Thailand is highly exposed to climate risks, yet its readiness to respond remains limited. Beyond the consequences for lives and communities, climate change increasingly threatens business assets, operations, workers, supply chains and economic productivity.
These risks are becoming more visible—from severe flooding in Hat Yai, Songkhla, and the prospect of a super El Niño to rising global temperatures that can undermine productivity across sectors, from agriculture to labour.
Climate adaptation is therefore not simply a sustainability issue; it is a business investment decision. Well-designed measures can strengthen resilience and protect long-term value. Poorly designed investments, however, can lock in exposure, damage ecosystems or shift risks onto other communities—an outcome known as “maladaptation.”
This webinar will explore:
❓ Why does investment in climate adaptation matter to businesses?
❓ What does maladaptation mean in practice?
❓ How can businesses invest in resilience while avoiding unintended harm?
❓ Real-world examples of climate-adaptation investments by businesses
.
