CFNT Suggestion On Draft Climate Change Act Public Hearing
This report is based on the submission of the Climate Finance Network Thailand (CFNT) in response to the third public consultation on the Thailand’s Draft Climate Change Act, drawing on the questions provided through the central legal consultation platform.
The draft legislation comprises 14 chapters, one transitional provision, and 205 sections. It aims to address the impacts of climate change in alignment with Thailand’s international commitments, while safeguarding the country’s natural resources and environment, public safety, and quality of life. The draft also emphasizes the principles of equity, fairness, and national capacity.
CFNT organizes its comments into three main parts: (1) overall observations and key recommendations on the draft Climate Change Act, (2) detailed comments by chapter and section, and (3) an appendix.
CFNT’s submission is grounded in scientific evidence and credible research, with the aim of ensuring that this legislation delivers the greatest possible benefit to Thai society and supports a concrete and equitable Just Transition.
